Call for Papers to VOX-Pol Conference on Violent Extremism, Terrorism, and the Internet: Present and Future Trends

VOX-Pol’s third biennial conference will take place at the University of Amsterdam on 20 – 21 August 2018, with post-conference workshops taking place on 22 August 2018.

The organizers are seeking panels and papers describing and discussing in-depth and cutting-edge research on the intersections of violent extremism and/or terrorism and the Internet.

Paradise Papers Wins Polk Award

The Paradise Papers investigation of wealth stashed offshore has won a George Polk Award, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalist’s second Polk Award in as many years. The team of more than 380 journalists from six continents was honored with the Financial Reporting Award.

Walker Talks About Strategic Messaging at NDC

Vivian Walker, who is currently a CMDS fellow and adjunct faculty at the CEU School of Public Policy has recently delivered a lecture at the National Defense College of the UAE in Abu Dhabi on Strategic Messaging in Complex Information Environments. The National Defense College offers an MA in national security strategy to UAE elites in government, military and the private sector.

CEU Students Join Media Influence Matrix Project

A team of CEU MA students has joined the Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) in carrying out its newly launched Media Influence Matrix Project. The students are doing research work in line with the common methodology and research template used in the project. The majority of the students are currently pursuing MA degrees at the CEU School of Public Policy (SPP).
