Walker Talks About Strategic Messaging at NDC

Vivian Walker, who is currently a CMDS fellow and adjunct faculty at the CEU School of Public Policy has recently delivered a lecture at the National Defense College of the UAE in Abu Dhabi on Strategic Messaging in Complex Information Environments. The National Defense College offers an MA in national security strategy to UAE elites in government, military and the private sector. Walker is currently teaching a course at SPP on "Strategic Security Narratives in a “Post-Fact” World", focusing on the dynamic between information empowerment and information control, and the specific challenges to state narrative authenticity in the form of fake news, propaganda and disinformation campaigns. Walker has previously served as professor of National Security Strategy at the National War College in Washington, DC. She has also served as a professor of strategic and security studies at the National Defense College of the United Arab Emirates and a visiting professor at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University. In her 26-year career with the State Department, she rose to the senior rank of minister counselor.
