European Parliament Study Cites CMDS Research

January 14, 2021

The study ‘Mapping Fake News and Disinformation in the Western Balkans and Identifying Ways to Effectively Counter Them’ was requested by the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, and it reveals three key disinformation challenges: external challenges to EU credibility; disinformation related to the COVID-19 pandemic; and the impact of disinformation on elections and referenda.

The study cites our ‘The Business of Misinformation: Serbia’ report, written by Semir Dzebo, in the framework of a project aimed at mapping the individuals and companies that own misinformation websites and their links to institutions, parties and other individuals. The Center’s first e-book, ‘The Unbearable Ease of Misinformation’, contains a summary of the findings, as well as all country reports.
