Conference organized by Atlatszo.hu and the Center for Media, Data and Society, School of Public Policy of CEU

The aim of this conference is to introduce drones to civil society organizations, independent media outlets, journalists and bloggers; to raise awareness to the various ethical, legal and practical implications of the technology; and to establish best practices for its use. The conference and workshop will consist of presentations and discussions by international experts, activists, journalists and policy makers addressing opportunities for commercial drone use, questions around regulation and the legal framework, and privacy and data protection implications of drone use in various countries. Highly interactive sessions will allow participants to discuss the use of drones to increase transparency and accountability, share best practices, and partake in hands-on sessions on drone use for investigative journalism, environmental monitoring, and other humanitarian purposes.
