March 24, 2021

The new book The Values of Public Service Media in the Internet Society, co-edited by CMDS Fellow Marta Rodríguez-Castro and published by Palgrave Macmillan provides a global overview of the challenges and opportunities faced by Public Service Media organizations. Bringing together 40 scholars from three continents, the book illustrates how Public Service Media can create value for different stakeholders, in different contexts, and through different methods.

A chapter co-authored by CMDS Director Marius Dragomir and Minna Aslama Horowitz create a framework for analyzing media capture and its impact on Public Service Media.

In a chapter entitled “Public Service Media Interventions: Risk and the Market,” co-authors Rodríguez-Castro, Caitriona Noonan and Phil Ramsey discuss the relationship between Public Service Media and the market through the lens of risk.
