For the duration of 2014, officially Holocaust Memorial Year in Hungary, OSA Archivum is exploring the history of Budapest's "yellow-star houses", a network of almost 1,950 apartment buildings throughout the city designated in June 1944 as compulsory places for residence for around 220,000 Budapest citizens defined as Jewish by the race laws in force at the time. The seminar discusses ways in which this public history project uses archival documents together with contemporary mapping and crowd-sourcing technologies, as well as social media and sticker campaigns.

Dr Gwen Jones is the editor of yellowstarhouses.org.

Short presentation followed by discussion.

Sandwiches will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Please bring your own beverage.

Now entering its third year, the Media and Change lunch series aims at creating a space for reflection and informal discussion about media policies, perils, potentials, and practices. We view this as an opportunity for networking with each other and fellow faculty, students, staff and researchers interested in the media, communication and technological transformations taking hold.

This will be the last session of our Spring 2014 Media and Change Discussion Series!
