Emma L Briant Quoted by Reuters on the US Government’s Disinformation Governance Board

The Disinformation Governance Board was a major strategic error of the Biden administration, our Fellow Emma L Briant commented in a new piece by Reuters.

The article reports on the resignation of the head of the Disinformation Governance Board of the US Department of Homeland Security, newly set up by the Biden administration to fight disinformation. The board and its executive director Nina Jankowicz drew fierce attacks from the right.

Emma L Briant is quoted in the article as saying, “I welcome the pausing of the 'Disinformation Governance Board' after just 3 weeks - I believe this was a major strategic error of the administration.”

But she added it was “utterly abhorrent” that Jankowicz was turned into “a punch bag.”
