Marius Dragomir Joins Advisory Board of Hungarian Fact-Checking Website

CMDS Director Marius Dragomir is a member of the Advisory Board for new Hungarian fact-checking website Lakmusz.hu.

The first Hungarian fact-checking website is run by a consortium of news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP), the publisher of Hungarian news portal 444.hu, and Media Univeralis Foundation, a Hungarian university foundation.

The project is co-financed by the European Commission for 15 months in the framework of the European Digital Media Observatory.

In addition to Marius Dragomir, the Advisory Board includes:

  • Márton Gergely, editor-in-chief of Hungarian weekly HVG
  • Joanna Krawczyk, chair of Polish Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation
  • Josef Trappel, head of the Department of Communication Research at the University of Salzburg, Austria
  • Stefánia Kapronczay, executive director of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union
  • Róbert Kotroczó, news director of RTL Hungary
  • Péter Krekó, director of Hungarian think tank Political Capital
  • József Péter Martin, executive director of Transparency International Hungary
  • Márta Pardavai, co-chair of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee

The board will regularly assess the work done by Lakmusz.
