On Monday 11 September 2017, the third edition of the 2017 series of News Impact Summits will take place in Budapest, focusing on the theme "Methods and Tools for Digital Journalism". Organised by the European Journalism Centre and powered by the Google News Lab, in partnership with CMDS, this one-day free-to-join event will address some of the hottest topics in digital journalism, including but not limited to verification, trust, social media reporting, digital security, doing investigative journalism with open-source data and media entrepreneurship.

The Summit brings together leading editors, journalists and experts who are spearheading innovation in digital journalism and storytelling at major international media outlets such as BBC, Spiegel Online, AFP, Denník N, Gazeta Wyborcza and many more.

In his intro speech, resident CMDS fellow Dean Starkman will discuss journalism under pressure (and everywhere else) in Central Eastern Europe, while senior program officer Eva Bognar will moderate a panel on innovative business models for journalism.
