Bognar Interviewed in Austria’s Kurier About Media Capture in Hungary

In its articles entitled Freie Medien als Feindbild Orbáns (Free Media as the enemy of Orbán”) and Medien in Ungarn: „Kämpfen bis zum letzten Atemzug“ (Media in Hungary: "Fighting to the last breath"), Kurier.at gave an overview of the current state of the Hungarian media landscape, quoting CMDS’ senior program officer and researcher, Eva Bognar who reflected on the recent announcement of the closure of Magyar Nemzet, highlighting that it’s a serious blow to media diversity.

She said that the reach of media that is critical of the government is very narrow and "those who are not actively seeking news that deviates from the world view of the government are not confronted with it."
