Dragomir Writes About the Perils of Public Media Funding for Project Syndicate

Marius Dragomir, director of the Center for Media, Data and Society has recently authored a piece for Project Syndicate, giving an overview of alarming trends we can witness in many countries about the myriad ways state exerts control over public media. "In many media markets around the world", Dragomir writes, "publicly-financed news organizations are little more than government mouthpieces. If even a fraction of these outlets' budgetary windfalls were redirected toward independent news sites and broadcasters, journalism would thrive and the public would be better informed."
