Call for Application to Conduct Research in the Framework of the “Sound Relations” Project

Central European University’s (CEU) “Sound Relations” Project, funded by the Intellectual Themes Initiative, seeks two talented and highly motivated CEU students to conduct research on the special audio collections of the Blinken Open Society Archives at CEU.

'Sound–RESounds: Research and Sonic Production from the Blinken Open Society Archives' Sound Collections'  is a unique opportunity for to do research within Blinken OSA's most sonically dynamic archives.

The research will require the exploration and study of audio collections and will lead to the production of original audio materials. The chosen researchers will have access to one or more of six selected audio collections. In a three-month period, the researchers will have conceived and produced original audio outputs based on the collections (e.g. a podcast mini-series, audio documentaries, soundscape, sound installation). The final material will form a key component within CEU's podcast library, to be launched in September 2017.

The project is open to all CEU PhD students, as well as to two-year MA students in their first year. We offer a compensation that is commensurate with a dynamic and international academic environment. The contract is for 3 months.
