CEU Summer University Course on Communication Policy and Advocacy Starting on Sunday

July 4, 2014

This Sunday marks the start of the CEU Summer University course ‘Advocacy, Activism and the Internet: Communication Policy for Social Change’. This year we welcome participants from 24 countries, with backgrounds in research, activism, and policy advocacy. We have put together an exciting schedule with lectures, workshops and policy lab sessions that focus on Internet law and policy, online freedom of expression, digital security and privacy, as well as communication rights and social change.

The course has a substantial component of hands-on trainings to develop various advocacy strategies. We are extremely happy to welcome world-class professionals and experts on Internet policy and advocacy as our course faculty. Participants will also learn useful skills for mobilizing, organizing and for enhancing their online security and privacy. You can find the course schedule attached below.

The course is jointly organized by CMCS and the Center for Global Communication Studies at the Annenberg School of Communication, and is taking place with support from Open Society Foundation’s Program on Independent Journalism.

You can follow our activities and join the discussions next week through Twitter under the hashtag #cmcs14.
